Juno will fly by Io on its way into the Jupiter encounter. The closest approach altitude is similar to PJ57, 1500 km, as we endeavor to learn more about Io's interior structure from its gravity signature.
Perijove Predict Map
About Perijove Predict Maps

Every perijove pass we have the challenge of predicting where Points of Interest will be as the different zones of the planet have different wind velocities. This map shows our effort to rotate the latitudinal zones with their different wind speeds to predict what will be under the Juno groundtrack.

Winner Selection
JunoCam will image Io before and after closest approach because Io is not in the JunoCam field of view right at closest approach.
