Jupiter-shine observation of Io's leading hemisphere taken a few seconds after closest approach on orbit 58. This image focuses on Shamshu Patera, large volcano with a patch work of lava flows near Io's equator. Shamshu Patera is surrounded by several non-volcanic mountains. At right is a feature that is thought to be a lava lake, Janus Patera. Pixel scale is 1 km/pixel.
