The closeups of the STB Ghost, a large cyclonic circulatin, were a highlight of PJ8. Here are two images (at reduced resolution), with key features and currents marked. The same sequence of images shows an interesting sector of SSTB, where ground-based observations indicate that small anticyclonic vortices arise from the turbulence of the FFR, and drift gradually westwards relative to it, eventually merging into the recently developed AWO-A5. --John Rogers.
